Fathers, mothers, daughters, sons of 2016

The Challenge went ahead as usual in Term 4 with twenty-one pairs doing battle at Talus Street.

We had fathers and daughters, mothers and sons, brothers, uncles and nephews and we even had Hugh Tucker play with his grandma, Jan Lofgren.

Father and daughter, John and Grace Bruce, were too strong even for Division 1, but it was tight for the runners-up position which went to father and son, Mark and Leo Bernhardi.

Eamon and Adrian Cachia took out the top honours in Division 2, closely followed by brothers River and Bo O’Brien.  Alicia Slobodian and her dad Ronan were winners of Division 3 with Julian and Shaun Berger runners- up. Division 4 went to Oliver and Guy Brent with Jaun and Eduardo Alvarez runners-up.

Sincere thanks to Troy Delmege who ran the afternoon in the absence of Sue, and Troy treated everyone to pizza, donuts and cold drinks for afternoon tea which went down extremely well.

A great afternoon’s tennis was had by everyone who attended. These events are always greatly enjoyed by those who participate, commenting on what a wonderful opportunity it is for families to play together, no matter what their standard.
