What is Interdistrict?

Competition between the Metropolitan district Tennis Associations was first conducted in 1921 for the open men and open ladies events.

Perpetual trophies such as the F. O. Blackwell Cup and the Angus & Coote Cup were acquired and competed for in 1921. These Cups have been competed for annually ever since.

Do you want the opportunity to represent NSTA?

NSTA are now accepting nominations for Term 3 Interdistrict teams. Matches are played in a home and away format, so there will be travel to other districts. Home matches will be played at NSTA – Talus St, Naremburn.

Players wishing to represent NSTA must complete the nomination form to be considered. Players must include which age group they are nominating for when completing the form. Players will need to indicate any NSTA competition or event they have participated in the previous 12 months.

We will be accepting nominations for 10 yrs, 12 yrs, 14 yrs, 16 yrs, 18yrs boys and girls divisions, as well as Open Mens and Womens divisions.

Trials will be held if necessary.

Nomination Form

  • - Open Cups (Blackwell & Angus & Coote) players must be over 15 years of age as at 30th September - All Juniors shall be under the age requirement as at the 30th September in the competition year

*The age eligibility for this competition for Seniors, Juniors and Blackwell & Angus & Coote Cups is as at 30 September 2024. For example, a junior playing in the 12 years and under event must not turn 13 before 30 September. If the player turns 13 on 1 October or later in 2019, you are eligible to play in the 12/Under event.

NSTA History

THE GEORGE McKERIHAN SHIELD
(Interdistrict Competition Championship Award.)

This award was inaugurated in 1947 and awarded to the Association with the highest number of points earned during the Interdistrict competition. NSTA won this award in 1949, 1951, 1952, 1957, 1959, 1982, 1983.

NSTA acknowledges and pays respect to the Cammeraygal people who are the traditional custodians of the land on which we work, play and compete.
We extend the respect to the elders past, present and emerging and all First Nations People.
