We are happy to report that Sue Delmege is on the improve and is resting at home. It will be some weeks before she can resume duties.

The NSTA Committee is attempting to be "Business as Usual" but some events have been cancelled. These are the Primary School Challenge on Aug 27  and Secondary School Challenge on Sept 3. These are complex events that require Sue's expertise and knowledge to run. The Committee felt it was better to cancel rather than attempt to run something that would almost inevitably fall short of our usual high standards. We sincerely apologise to those schools and operators who have already put much work into collating entries for these events. The Family Challenge on Sept 11 has also been cancelled.

The Winter Pairs Comp starting this weekend will be uploaded on to XPoint by Thursday Aug 18 and will run as normal.

The Office will be manned at irregular intervals but it is preferable that any queries etc be forwarded by Email to sue@nsta.com.au and it is intended to respond to those on a daily basis.

THE NSTA apologises for any inconvenience and thank you for your understanding. We look forward to having Sue Delmege back and brimming with health

Our Administrator Sue Delmege is unfortunately suffering health problems at the moment. She has been away from the office since August 1 and her return date is still uncertain. Some events will have to be cancelled but the Committee is trying to maintain normality as much as possible. Please be patient if if some queries are not answered as quickly as normal. A further update will be given on Tuesday after the NSTA Committee has been able to assess its options.

PRIMARY SCHOOLS CHALLENGE 28th May:  We were very lucky with the weather as the rain

cleared in time for our 390 keen players to take to the courts.  Although somewhat cold, we had another great evening of tennis which saw Greenwich victorious as our winning school with their team of Michael Jeregui, Sam Sheppard, Paniz Momeni, Sienna Warden, Toby Lang and Peter Jeregui.  They were closely followed by LANE COVE (Ben Joyner, Alex Morris, Oscar Deane, Hughie Maher, Kade Zammit, Tom Ralph, Xavier Thomas, Lachlan Yeung, Jonas de Roserio, Mac Deane, Mia Gardner and Violet Craven-Sands) in 2nd position with NEUTRAL BAY 3rd.  Thanks to all teachers, parents and coaches who submitted teams and a big thank you to all our volunteers who supervised at centres:  Elizabeth Chappell, Ian Chappel, Alex Byrne, Alan Carruthers, Carol Langsford, Garry Delmege, Alisa Jeregui and Troy Delmege.  Click here for full results.  Our next Challenge will be held on Saturday evening, 27th August.

FAMILY CHALLENGE:  We had a very successful Family Challenge at Talus Street on Sunday afternoon 15th May.  Lots of dads & sons, mums & daughters, and this time we even had aunts/uncles & nephews, brothers, and brothers & sisters.  Henry Fong was our oldest competitor (80!!) and starred by running up in his division with daughter Melissa Gock (pictured).  And Jun Sasagawa not only starred on the court with sister Emma, but kept us all mesmerised off court with his amazing talent with the Rubic's Cube!  Click here for full results.

NORTH SHORE OPEN Platinum AMT:  The NSTA hosted the North Shore Open over the Easter long weekend and it proved to be a huge success.  We had players from France, Great Britain, Japan and Italy, as well as locals from Western Australia, Tasmania, Victoria, Queensland and the ACT.  247 players took part and congratulations to the last two standing ... our AMT Open Singles Champions Katy Dunne (Great Britain) and Max Purcell (Frenchs Forest).

NSTA CHAMPIONSHIPS:  Finals Day, combining finals of the NSTA Championships and NSTA Junior Championships, was held on Sunday 20th March at Talus Street amid glorious sunshine for the most part of the day.  We were entertained with some great matches throughout the day and we congratulate all our winners and runners up - and special congratulations to our new Open Singles Champions, Alisa Jeregui and James O'Brien (pictured below left).  There were a number of highlights during the day, including:
